What happened at each school last year
The published figures from last year's offers. They describe what happened then, school by school. They are not a forecast, and they say nothing about any one family's case. Waiting lists are kept in the order of each school's admission criteria (School Admissions Code 2021, 2.15).

- DfE's figures cover 63 schools for September 2026 entry. At 44 of them, every family who put the school first was offered a place there. At 19, some families who put the school first were not offered it.

Places offered and first preferences: DfE, Primary and secondary school applications and offers (school level, Open Government Licence). "Put it first, not offered it" is DfE's number of first preferences less its number of first-preference offers. Applicants refused: Greenwich's own offer-day tables, where we hold them; "not held" means we do not have the figure, not that it was nought.
Moving to Greenwich mid-year
Apply to the council for most schools; some schools take applications directly. The council handles in-year applications for community schools and some academies (most primaries; only Eltham Hill, Plumstead Manor and Thomas Tallis at secondary). Apply directly to Church of England and Roman Catholic primaries and to 13 secondary academies and faith schools, including Ark Greenwich Free School, Harris Academy Greenwich, the Leigh academies, Royal Greenwich Trust School, St Paul's Academy, St Thomas More, St Ursula's, The John Roan and both Woolwich Polytechnic schools.
- Decision: "process it within 10 to 15 school days"
- Proof of address: No extra proof if registered with the council for Council Tax; otherwise a letter from the Council Tax payer plus 2 official documents, or a commercial tenancy agreement, proof of rent payments, or completion on a purchase.
From Greenwich's own in-year admissions page (2026 to 2027 (page links the 2026 to 2027 primary and secondary booklets)): read it there before you apply, as arrangements change each year.
