Kinplace sets almost no cookies.
This page lists everything kinplace stores in your browser and why. The only question you'll be asked is about advertising, and kinplace works just as well whichever you choose.
Cookies
On Tailscale, kinplace knows who you are from your device, so it doesn't need a sign-in cookie.
When kinplace goes public with Google sign-in, it will set one: a session cookie that keeps you signed in, which scripts on the page can't read. It is strictly necessary, so it doesn't need your consent under UK law, and it will be listed here with its lifetime.
If you open another family's referral link (/join?ref=…), kinplace keeps its code in a cookie, kp_ref, for 30 days, so the sign-in that follows can give both households their month of Plus. It holds only the code, is set only when you open such a link, and is used for nothing else.
If kinplace is measuring its marketing
When kinplace advertises, it sets two more cookies, both read only by kinplace's server. Neither is set while this measurement is switched off.

Things kept in your browser
A few preferences are kept in your browser's own storage so the app remembers how you left it. They never leave your device, and clearing your browser's site data removes them.

Paying for kinplace Plus
Kinplace sets no cookie for payments. When you pay, you're on Stripe's own checkout page, which sets its own cookies on Stripe's site to keep the payment secure and prevent fraud. They're Stripe's, covered by Stripe's cookie policy, and kinplace can't read them.
If this changes
Anything used for advertising is asked about first, with "No thanks" as easy to press as "Accept", and kinplace works just as well if you say no. Any new cookie will be listed here before it is used.
