Places offered and first preferences: DfE, Primary and secondary school applications and offers (school level, Open Government Licence). "Put it first, not offered it" is DfE's number of first preferences less its number of first-preference offers. Applicants refused: Hillingdon's own offer-day tables, where we hold them; "not held" means we do not have the figure, not that it was nought.

Moving to Hillingdon mid-year

Apply to the council for most schools; some schools take applications directly. The council processes in-year applications only for community schools (up to 4 on the Common Application Form via the parent portal). Non-community schools (academies, foundation, free, studio, voluntary aided, UTCs, which include all secondary schools) make their own decisions: applications for them on the council form are passed to the school, or parents apply directly.

  • Proof of address: Proof of address for parent and child required (separate guidance page lists documents), including in temporary accommodation.

From Hillingdon's own in-year admissions page (Fair Access Protocol 2025/26; in-year protocol dated 2024. Page notes summer 2026 delays to mid-September.): read it there before you apply, as arrangements change each year.

How in-year applications work everywhere: Moving mid-year.
